From Invention to Innovation
When it refers to the inventor of the electric light, most people’s first thought is Edison. However, in fact, Edison is the 23rd one who invented the electric light. The famous 19th century American inventor invented 1093 inventions as a whole and till now, no one can break the record. The light can be said to be one of his most important inventions. In fact, in the early 19th century, Davy invented arc lamps which were widely used in squares, theater and other public places. In 1860, British scientist Joseph Swan invented the semi vacuum carbon filament lamp which was the prototype of the incandescent lamp that we use today. But because of the immature vacuum technology and the lack of adequate power source, the life for this lamp was very short, and Joseph Swan stopped the continuation of exploration in this field because of the lack of funds and manpower. The difference with the previous twenty inventors who only lighted the lamps in the laboratory is that Edison gave the results of this technology with great commercial value. He made the popularity of the lamps by building a power transmission system. Then
3rd Grade Science Fair Projects and Ideas
3rd grade science fair projects are a lot of fun because at this age children are eager to explore the world around them and find out how things work. They are constantly wanting to know the answer to the question “What happens if I do this…” and therefore they will likely come up with many different experiments they’d like to try. It may be difficult to decide on just one!At this age they have a short attention span though, so the projects must be simple, fun and fairly short. There are many, many different project ideas for this age group such as; do all the children in their class have the same size hands and the same size feet as each other? They can research this by tracing the other children’s hands and feet on a piece of paper and comparing them to each other. They could do a test to see if waterproof mascara is really waterproof. To do this you would need a couple brands of waterproof mascara, a piece of paper and some water. Simply put the mascara onto a sheet of paper and rinse it under some water
History Of Telescopes – A Look At Galileo And The Galileo Galilei Telescope
The first inhabitants of the world were compelled to accommodate their acts to the daily and annual alternations of light and darkness and of heat and cold. In history there are only a few distinguished men who made such a big contribution to astronomy, one of them was Galileo Galilei and his work with the telescope. When we look at today’s telescopes we mainly are working with either Galileo’s telescope or Newton’s telescope. These men made such a big impact in astronomy and telescopes, that we still use the same types of telescopes invented by these men!Galileo or his full name Galileo Galilei was an Italian physicist and astronomer. Galileo was born in Pisa on 15 February 1564 and lived 78 years till 1642 when he passed away. In this time he made such advancement in astronomy, that we still know the name Galileo.Galileo not only made advancements in astronomy, he is also noted with the invention of the thermometer! Galileo Galilei telescope was the first to make observations of the Moon and its crescents, the Sun, planets and stars. Most of Galileo’s time and energy was in mathematics and that is what
Invention Ideas For Students, and How to Come Up With Great New Products
They say that the mother of invention is necessity. I’ve found that to be true over my 40 years or so of being an inventor. Another way of putting it is; find a need and fill it. So the best time to think of an invention might be that moment when you are thinking to yourself “I wish there was an easier way to do this”. At that moment stop and think of all the possible ways the task could be made easier or eliminated. One thing I like to do when I discover a task that I find tiresome or boring or difficult, is to imagine the wackiest crazy ways of solving the problem. This often leads to interesting ways of doing things. It never hurts to use your imagination. Imagination is like a muscle, the more you use it the easier it gets. Imagination is tied to creativity. If you can’t imagine something then I can guarantee you that you won’t create it. First you have to imagine it, and then you can bring it to reality.I’ve compiled a list of interesting invention ideas…maybe something on the list will spark
