According to Wikipedia, science-fiction is a broad genre of fiction that often involves speculations based on current or future science or technology. There are many movies featuring events, gadgets, creatures and people that are very unlikely to encounter, meet or happen in real life. But as time passes by and science and technology keep on advancing and improving, many elements which are considered belonging to science-fiction movie are now coming to life.

The most popular science-fiction elements are extraterrestrials. In this category we have E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounter and Independence Day. It’s still unclear if there is life on other planets despite many claims of UFO sightings, alien encounters, abductions and let’s not forget The Roswell Incident. NASA detected what seems like methane on Mars’ atmosphere which means possible life on the planet. – I hope that they look like us and not small, green with big headed people, coz that would bring back nightmares which will turn out to be real this time. What I fear most if there is life on Mars that for some stupid earthling reason we’ll decide to attack them and turn this into Earth

Due to the large-scale harm meted out by smoking on human beings and the environment as a whole, numerous efforts have been initiated in order to curb the prevalence of smoking addiction. Smoking has been prevalent in the human society from a very early period and it is very hard to determine the exact circumstances that initially developed cravings for nicotine in the minds of human beings. When man was first introduced to nicotine addiction, he was not aware of the harmful effects of smoking. During that period, man was not knowledgeable enough to identify the disastrous effects of smoking and most particularly, at that time science was also not well-developed to ascertain the killing effects of smoking in the human body.

Slowly and gradually, man got hooked to this widespread addiction and with the passage of time it has almost become an urgent necessity for man. Even though there are people who are not addicted to tobacco smoking, still they are also harmed tremendously if they are exposed to passive smoking. Smoking is omnipresent in every nook and corner of the world. But unfortunately, even after being very well

Moving With the Gear -Train of Modern Science

Fire was the first discovery and wheel was the first invention. Since that time, we have traveled far. Science has taken us to territories we could not have envisaged some centuries ago. 20th century was when science really came into its own. It produced magic realism for us. Half of our present day inventions were inconceivable a century ago. Science had brought great laurels in every field but the one place where it has really shone is technology. Today, we have access to some of the most unbelievable technical inventions. A few centuries ago, a mastermind called Leonardo da Vinci made the first blue-print for an aero plane. Today, even the economy class, domestic seaters have become passé. It is time for the new avatars. Who would have thought that we could fly miles above the ground on a machine that is streamlined to fight air resistance? A few days ago, NASA launched a Space Shuttle called Discovery. It is supposed to use truss bands and solar wings to propose a new means of solar reception. Imagine, a tangible metallic object run on hydrogen fuel, stationary in space, thousand miles away, bringing us news, data and newer

Man Builds Inventing Machine

John Koza has made a serious breakthrough when it comes to the computing power of today and our hopes for it in the future. Studying computers since his high school tutelage in the 1950s, Koza was a man who yearned to make advancements in the world around him. As a clear example of his ingenuity, he was unable to afford a computer while in high school, since the mainframes of the time took up entire rooms and cost far more than the modern day computer. To that end, John assembled bits and pieces from the gadgets around him, and with parts from old pinball machines and jukeboxes, he found himself with a computer that could accurately compute what day of the week a certain date would fall on.
John’s latest invention far surpasses his date-decoding computer of the fifties. Utilizing 1,000 networked computers operating in tandem, his new device uses genetic programming to solve problems. Essentially, what the machine does is follow Darwin’s laws of survival of the fittest – it compiles code, tests it against other code, and thereby determines the most accurate usage of code. And the machine wasn’t built with one purpose in
